Το σημείο εκκίνησης του σχεδίου που δημιούργησα για την έκθεση του Μεγάλου Μωσαϊκού είναι ένα σύνολο αφηγήσεων από ανθρώπους που ζουν στο νησί. Όταν κανείς καταπιάνεται με πράγματα που πέρασαν ενώ βιώνει μια εμπειρία του παρόντος, πολύ συχνά έχει την τάση να θεωρεί την τρέχουσα εμπειρία ως κάτι που ανήκει ήδη στο παρόν, και αναμένει το πέρασμά της στο χώρο της μνήμης.
Σε πρώτο στάδιο, αναρωτήθηκα για τις συνθήκες αυτού του περάσματος και προσπάθησα να το αντιληφθώ. Έπειτα, αναρωτήθηκα πώς μπορώ να το απαλύνω και να το προστατέψω.
Στο σχέδιο παρουσιάζω την ομάδα των 23 καλλιτεχνών που συμμετέχουν στην έκθεση ως ένα πλοίο με 23 κουπιά, που σαλπάρει σε ένα γκρίζο φόντο. Επέλεξα, στη συνέχεια, να προστατέχω αυτό το πλοίο κρύβοντας το και αναμειγνύοντας το με ένα τεράστιο φύλλο ενός φυτού ριζωμένου στο χαρτί του σχεδίου μου. Το φύλλο αιωρείται πάνω από το πλοίο, σαν μια χειρονομία ευλογίας.

The starting point of the drawing I created for the Big Mosaic exhibition is an ensemble of narrations by people living on the island. When trying to include the things of the past in an ongoing experience, one often starts considering the ongoing experience as already a thing of the past and to anticipate its passing into the realm of memory.
I asked myself of the circumstances of this passage, trying to understand it in the first place. Then I asked myself how I could make it softer and protect it.
I represented the group of 23 artists participating in the exhibition as a ship with 23 paddles, navigating on a gray background. I chose, then, to protect the ship by hiding it and merging its form with an immense leaf of a plant rooted in the paper of my drawing, hanging above the boat as a gesture of benediction.
